day escapes

Wow! I can't believe we've let three weeks pass. The time has flown by... I guess it always does when you're transitioning to a new place. Now that things are finally starting to feel normal here, mr. h and I will start our typical move-in routine (we've become pro's at making a new place home quickly). One of our keys to staying sane in the chaos of a move is our search for our favorite 'day escape' near our new home.

That's how our first 'day escape' started... when we moved to Cali, we'd escape from the tasks and hard realities of our new place and take a day trip to explore a nearby mountain town like Mount Shasta. Or, if we needed the atmosphere of a city, we'd head south to Sacramento. Don't limit yourself to places in your state, we also loved going to spots that were just outside the border--like Ashland, OR. After moving from Cali to TN, we kept up our tradition of day escapes, making places like Nashville and Chattanooga our new favorite spots.

We love adventures together and we love getting away, but we're also a young couple on a young couple's budget. Day escapes are the perfect way to get away, make memories together, and do it on a budget and in a time frame that works for people with a tight schedule and limited budget. Try it out... go explore a city or town near you and find your place where you love to escape.
