Kinfolk magazine is one of my favorite magazines. When I read Kinfolk I'm always inspired to live life simply yet beautifully with the people I love. Kinfolk is based around the idea of sharing life with others through food, travel, art, etc. As the staff at Kinfolk describe it, "Kinfolk provides a space where we can come together and share ideas about small gatherings, casual entertaining and great things to cook, make and do." 

This month Kinfolk began producing Kinfolk Saturdays films to "give you ideas for things to do on weekends, inspire you to try new things and make the most of your precious days off." At mr.&mrs.h, we love anything that inspires us to create, discover, explore, and live life fully. So, here's some inspiration to make the most of your weekend...

Summer Reading

I just finished one of the best books I've read in awhile, Love Does. It so inspired me to live--really live. It was the perfect vacation reading for me because it was light and entertaining but also compelling. It's a collection of stories from the author's life that are short, sweet, and full of adventure. If you want to live fully, richly, and deeply, I suggest adding this quick yet profound read to your summer reading list.

summer reading: cereal mag

Have you read Cereal Magazine? I'm a little obsessed. Not only because it's about food and travel - two of our passions here at mr.&mrs.h, but it's different than your typical travel magazine. It highlights places that aren't on the front cover of Travel&Leisure, Departures, etc (not that there's anything wrong with those), but it's just not the "same ol', same ol'" resort that's been covered a million times. 

Instead Cereal ventures to travel destinations that pique the imagination... somewhere a little off the beaten path or maybe a major city you've been to several times, but they'll cover a restaurant or shop that's doing something new and inventive. It's always educational too. For example, this past issue they covered pepper... one of the most common spices we use, but the history, and information was phenomenal. And, the previous issue they covered Ravello, Italy--a hidden jewel on the Amalfi Coast. Plus, the photography is gorgeous and there are few things I love reading more than a "cult-magazine" that inspires my appetite and adventures.
